Executive Director

About Nehal

I’m Nehal, and I’m the Executive Director of Girls Who Math. I’m a huge STEM nerd at heart—especially when it comes to physics, astronomy, and quantum science—but I also love journalism, fashion, photography, and finding random niche things to obsess over. I care a lot about making STEM feel be more accessible, especially for students who might not always see themselves represented in these spaces. I have always been advocating for other minorities and hope to continue doing so. Through Girls Who Math, I get to help build programs, work with amazing students and tutors, and create the kind of community I wish more people had access to. Outside of school and GWM, you can usually find me working on a research project, editing something for yearbook, volunteering, or picking up another new hobby. I love cafe-hopping and finding what local place has the best matcha!

Ellie

Tutoring & Curriculum Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lulya, and I am a member of the Class of 2027 at TJHSST. I decided to join Girls Who Math because I strongly believe in its mission to further accessibility for young women and girls who have not been given the opportunity to pursue education. I have experience working with nonprofits focused on supporting women globally who experience gender-based violence, and I hope to expand upon this work through GWM. In my daily life I enjoy playing soccer, flag football, and cheer, as well as baking.

Outreach Director

Hi! I’m Raina and a senior at TJHSST. I participate in many STEM clubs, competitions, and research, along with volunteering for non-profits focused on STEM education. I have noticed the gender disparities in STEM activity participation and is dedicated to decreasing this gap. I hope to expand the impact of Girls Who Math and encourage girls to pursue STEM fields. I love to listen to music and watch TV shows in my free time.

Tutoring & Curriculum Coordinator

Hi, I’m Ellie, and I’m a high schooler in Northern Virginia. I love studying the life sciences, but you can also find me reading a good book or writing poetry in my free time. I’m excited to contribute to the GWM mission and help make STEM more accessible!
